Hey there!
I know its been awhile since I have posted but trust me I am still alive and kicking. This weekend there was so much going on. Where to begin? Well Friday I did not want to get up... I hit the snooze button on my alarm too many times. Holy Crap I was going to be late for work. Fridays are torture for me as I just want to start the weekend already. The line up at the coffee shop was huge and full of people who just couldn't get their act together. People its just coffee stop with the soy and chai and whatever whipped toppings. Give me coffee so I can function and get going. Anyway I ended up bumping into Maxine and she told me about a cool new bar right near us that was very chill and not all fancy fancy and the drinks were dirt cheap. We made plans to go there after work. The day was getting better for sure. Maxine is very sweet, kinda your girl next door type who is always getting hit on. She could flirt with a coat hanger and not know she was even doing it. Maybe some of that would rub off on me? The day chugged along til lunch when a couple of us headed out to the local fast food joint for a greasy burger and fries. I know its not good for me but who doesn't crave a juicy burger once in a while. I am not one of those girls who is constantly counting calories. I seemed to be blessed with great genes where I can still look good and eat what I like. What can I say? I guess I am pretty lucky. After work I met Maxine at that new bar and we sat and ordered a couple of beers. The place was packed with really nice people. No ultra cool trendy types just regular folks. It was definitely a lot of fun. We played pool with a couple of dudes who were working construction on the new building right across the street. There's something about a guy who can build things that gets my heart racing. Maxine and I ended up losing the game which meant we had to go out with these guys for pizza and wings Saturday night. Didn't they realize that even if we had won, the pizza and wings was definitely going to happen. It was cool to meet a couple of guys who were very polite but still sexy too. Maxine and I were pretty blown away.

Hey there friends.
Sorry that it has been so long since my last posting. Been busy living life and having fun. Last weekend my friend Allison and I decided to do something kind of out of our comfort zones. We all tend to do the same things on the weekends. So this time we had been invited to an art show and we both decided what they hey let's check it out. The show was featuring new painters and my cousin's friend Rick was one of the artists. A little back story on Rick... I had a tiny crush on Rick and I had never acted on it and to my knowledge he was totally unaware. So we get there and there's a ton of interesting and cool looking people. I saw Rick and he flashed me a huge smile and we went over to chat. After a few minutes of introductions and exchanging pleasantries, Allison went to look for a drink and left Rick and I alone. Rick was wearing a very fitted white T-shirt and a nice pair of jeans which he looked great in. I could sense there was some chemistry. We walked over to the bar to grab a drink and look at the art. The paintings were so beautiful and Rick was so excited to show me his work. He was exceptionally talented which was a huge turn on. After we had taken in all of the art we went to another room which seemed like a storage area and Rick brushed my hair from my eyes and gently kissed me. It was amazing. Without going into too much detail, we ended up back at his studio loft and got down and dirty all night long. Not sure if we will see each other again, but I sure am looking forward to enjoying lots more art. Hi there People.
It's been ages since I posted but let me tell you - life has been anything but boring. Life is pretty great. Last night Chelsea and I caught up with a couple of old friends from high school (yes I am one of those weirdos that actually loved high school and still stay in contact with buddies from back in the day). We reminisced on the craziness of those years and how much better we all look now. Tom was one of those guys who people just loved. He had friends in all the different groups from the jocks to the goths. Everyone loved him. I admitted that I had a huge crush on him in high school. Back then I would have been way too shy to act on it but now I do not let the grass grow if you know what I mean. We played a few games of pool and when it started to get late, Chelsea and Tim left and Tom and I were finally alone. He invited me to a cool and quite intimate bar and we got very cozy in one of the booths. The evening got pretty hot and heavy and without giving away any details, I can say just say that Tom is still in my bedroom right now and its time for coffee. Who knows whats in store for the rest of the day? Hey friends,
If you've been following my musings for a while you know I'm the kind of girl who just goes with the flow. You know that life is too short to sweat the small stuff and I really try not to get too roweled up. But I met this guy last week that pushed me over the top. It started last Tuesday when I was in line at the grocery store and the guy behind me bumps me with his shopping cart. Before I turned around, he was already apologizing. It turned out he was really cute and seemed sincerely embarrassed that he had run into me. So after I finished in the grocery line I waited for him to pay and we walked out of the store together. After a few minutes, Chuck and I arranged to meet at a local restaurant for dinner on Friday. I looked forward to our date and after work on Friday I put on one of my sexiest dresses and headed to the restaurant. I got there early and he was there waiting and things started out great. Within a few minutes the conversation was going so well that he leaned in for a kiss and I eagerly jumped at the chance. The evening continued sooo perfectly. We had tons of chemistry and it seemed like he and I were on the same page in all the important ways - you know - religion - work ethic - goals - kids.. I thought this guy might just be a keeper. Since I thought he was possibly a long term boyfriend option, I decided to play it kinda cool and not invite him back to my place. After dinner he walked me to my car and we kissed good night. We made a plan for me to make him dinner on Sunday evening. I was excited to see him again and to make him dinner. I went to the grocery store on Saturday morning to get some fresh pasta and some chops and that's when the shit hit the fan. As I approached the checkout I saw Chuck bumping his cart into this blonde chick in the line. It was like fricking- déjà vu all over again! That bastard was using the old "bump the hottie in the checkout line" trick that I had fallen for just a few days earlier. Man, I tore him a new A-hole right there in the store. When I finished ranting at him people around us clapped and I got a high five from the cashier. Have a great week! Scarlett Hi Everybody,
I'll have to admit, I'm not a great runner. I usually go for a jog a couple of times a week to keep looking trim. So, a few weeks ago I clicked on a link on a website that was advertising "Fitness Singles". And I thought "cool, I'd like to meet a sexy, healthy and fit guy". After hunting around for a bit, I started messaging this guy named Terry. He sounded pretty interesting on his profile and after sending some messages he sounded like a nice guy - and pretty fit too. Amazingly he didn't want to trade pics, he just wanted to jump ahead to a date. I thought it was a bit odd, but regardless, we decided to meet last Sunday for a 10K run with my usual running group. Sunday morning came and I was at the park with the group - about 10 of us that usually run together, and it's looking like Terry is a no-show. The only person around is this older guy smoking in his car. A few minutes later, as my friends start getting cranky about having to wait, the guy gets out of his car, crushes his cigarette butt with his shoe, and comes in our direction. He's wearing some really short shorts and a pit-stained tank top and he has one of those sweat bands on his head holding down his comb-over. Just my luck. It he walks right up to me and introduces himself. "Hi, I'm Terry. Nice to meet you" he says. Then he explains that he was late because his cat was sick and it barfed on his shoes. I managed not to laugh at the image of this guy cleaning barf out of his shoes in his short-shorts. The group are ready to go so I cut Terry short and off we ran. Right away I can see that he wasn't a very fast runner so I politely stayed back a bit to run with him while my friends all ran ahead. About seven or eight minutes in, Terry starts to kind of wheeze a bit. Soon enough he is bent over having a coughing fit and he tells me he's going to have to go back and get his puffer that he left in his car. That's when I said buh-bye and ran to catch my friends. I guess I'll just forget about the fitness singles website. There are as many fakes on there as any. Better luck next time! Hi Y'all
Sundays are meant for sleeping in, coffee in bed and just hanging out with that super cute guy you invited over for a drink the night before. Last night Charlene and I were invited to a housewarming party at Tina's who had just moved into the area. Tina and I worked at the same office but really hadn't socialized outside of work. We were chatting at lunch and she mentioned wanting to have some people over to her new place. Tina is a really cute girl who loves meeting new people but hadn't really had time to make new friends yet. Also she is single and meeting cool guys at work can be awkward when things don't work out. I can attest to that! She also told me that she wanted to meet someone who could keep things casual as she just wasn't looking for anything super serious just yet. I definitely know how she feels. I am not ready to settle down yet either. Dating can be so exhausting when there are so many weirdos out there who either lie on their online profiles or are just nu-dateable. Its funny that Charlene and I are constantly discussing the value of dating sites - especially the sketchy free ones like POF. She hadn't been convinced about the need to actually pay for a dating site til she met Jim through my FWB Dan. Now she is like those smokers who finally quit. She hasn't stopped telling people to quit those free sites if you truly want to meet someone. I am forever telling her " I told you so". Tina's party turned out to be super fun. There weren't any new guys there to tangle with but regardless, she definitely knows how to throw a party. |
Just a girl about town?
Hi. I'm Scarlett, an average girl with above average desires. I may look like the girl next door but don't be fooled... Archives
