Hey there.
So are you like me and already had your fill of Christmas music at the mall, on the radio and TV? I hate to sound like a Scrooge but its still November for heaven's sake. Don't get me wrong, there are definitely some parts of the holiday season that I absolutely love. But I just wish all the festivities wouldn't start so early and be so monotonous. For example last weekend Charlotte and I were at our local coffee shop and they played Mariah Carey's " All I Want For Xmas" 6 times during the 45 mins we were there. Come on guys! Apart from that, we really love our coffee shop. It's not one of those hipster places where the baristas are all surly and moody and so is the lighting. Its super cheerful and not intimidating and actually a great place to meet guys. Usually we sit at a long bench near the window where there's seats for other people to join. When we were there last weekend we met a couple of guys who were visiting from Sydney Australia. I just love that accent. Swoon. Anyway the four of us ended up going bowling and having a blast. We quickly paired off, me with Bruce and Charlotte with Dave. Bruce was pretty sweet and had a lovely smile. He was a little flabby in the belly area (beer drinking I guess) but a smooth talker and certainly knew his way around a woman's body. Some things they do a bit differently Down Under. Not that I'm complaining. Actually hooking up with this Aussie got me thinking. It's amazing how life is so full of fun randomness. One minute you are in a coffee shop, kvetching about the Christmas music and the next minute you're having a blast with some dude from the opposite end of the planet. I just love the way things work out - not being tied down and being able to just roll with whatever happens. I wonder who I'll cross paths with next?? See ya!

Hi there. Well that was a fun-filled weekend.
Let me fill you in. Firstly, on Friday I get a text from Simon who is a friend of my brother's. He invited me to a party on Saturday night. Simon is someone I have known since we were kids and now he has grown into a handsome guy who I have a bit of a crush on. He asked me to bring some friends and I texted Charlotte who was totally in. Ok so Saturday was set but what about Friday night? I was not in the mood for sitting alone at home. I really wanted to go out and let loose. And besides I had just bought a really cool and pretty sexy dress that I needed to show off. (I was so in love with this slinky number that I was going to wear it all weekend! ) On my way to grab a coffee on Friday afternoon, a couple of my buddies at work Julie and Jackie told me about a housewarming party that I should definitely check out. They were going and so were a few of the guys from the office 2 floors up. Ok - I was in. They came over to my place at 10pm and we had a few pre-party cocktails before heading to the party. I am really into bourbon these days and can be a bit of a snob. I am not going to apologize for liking rich smooth good quality bourbon. Anyways, we headed to the party at around 11pm and when we got there it was packed. The place was super cool with amazing artwork on the walls and a fantastic view of the city. There were lots of people I didn't know but I finally bumped into Jared who works in my building. I had talked to him a few times in the elevator and always admired his nice body and wondered what it would be like out of the expensive suits he wears to work. He grabbed us a couple of drinks and we managed to find a place to sit so I could admire the view and the skyline. He had a beautiful English accent which I hadn't really noticed before and of course everything he said sounded so important and smart. He told me that he had only been here for a few months and was still getting the "lay of the land". I told him that I would be happy to show him around and he smiled. After a few hours of chatting and dancing ( yes there was a DJ and a dance floor) he asked very politely if he could kiss me. I think I said " Yes please" and that kiss was amazing. I just love a guy with manners who knows how to kiss. Things were definitely moving along very nicely when he asked if he could take me home. I looked around for Julie and waved bye. She was in a cozy conversation with a handsome guy who looked a lot like a young Brad Pitt. Jared said he lived close by and would I like to walk. I didn't know how far I could go in my high heels but I wasn't going to let that minor inconvenience stop me. He actually lived only a five minute walk away so it was no problem. His apartment was lovely but needed a woman's touch. He put on some music and we slow danced a little in the living room. It was very sweet and romantic. He was such a gentleman which is actually a very sexy quality for a man to have. We ended up in his bedroom and wow he had some moves that were new to me. It was a great way to spend a Friday night no question. As I write this I am still smiling remembering the evening. |
